Powerful New Pain Killer Medication with No Side Effects or Addiction Properties in the Making

drug dep.gif

Within a year or two, the public should start seeing a new prescription painkiller that has no side effects and more importantly, no addiction properties start to hit the market. For people who suffer from chronic pain not only will this drug be a “life saver” it should also cut down on the amount of pain medication addictions.

How the New Medication Works

“Dr. Gail Mandel and Dr. Paul Brehm to identify a novel sodium ion channel involved in the transmission of pain. They predicted that a drug aimed at blocking this channel, PN1/Nav 1.7, would control pain. PN1 (Peripheral Neuron 1), is uniquely expressed in peripheral nerves such as those involved in pain transduction. “In other words the medication will block pain in a specific area of the body unlike the pain medications available now that simply target the entire pain control center. The pain medications that are currently available such as morphine or any medication in the opiate classification of drugs the pain signals is transmitted through sensory nerves and into the central nervous system this reduces the pain but it also impairs the person’s judgment and dependency on the medication.

Conclusion

The need for this type of new medication is enormous it will relieve some of the worst kinds of pain such as the pain suffered by people who have sustained a traumatic injury, cancer patients, the pain caused from serious burns, migraines, arthritis, diabetic pain, and pain caused from any terminal or debilitating disease or condition. The medication is currently in phase 2 clinical trials in England and Canada and in phase 1 clinical trials in the United States. Scientists anticipate the medication will be available in some countries with a year and in others within two years.
