Randy Travis seeking treatment for alcohol addiction
Country music singer Randy Travis was arrested for a DUI in August of last year.
Now, he claims, it's time to get help for his alcohol problems. Travis' lawyer reported that the singer has given up alcohol and that he will be seeking treatment for his addiction before recording more music later this year.
After his DUI, Travis received some unflattering press, but his record sales seemed to increase. Recently, he also pleaded no contest to assault charges after getting into an altercation in a parking lot of a church last year. It appears that if he stays out of trouble for a probational period of three months, he won't be facing jail time.
The singer has reportedly given up alcohol on his own, but he is still going to complete a treatment program.
He currently has tour dates on the books for March, but reports say they may be changed depending on his condition. He hopes to release two albums before the end of 2013.
