Clinicians, please feel free to use these document any way you wish in your practice. I only ask that if you alter the content of the documents please remove my name as author and reference the original document (a simple reference such as the following would satisfy me: "Alexander DeLuca, M.D. - http://www.doctordeluca.com/SobrietyMedStart.htm").

Please note: I am using the word "sobriety" as NOT synonymous with "abstinence." For example, these medications can be used by Moderation Management members during both the 30 day abstinent period that group recommends, but also, in the case of naltrexone, as an aid to moderate drinking.

"Medications that can help us stay sober in early recovery."

While the above document was written with the achieving and maintenance of abstinence in mind, the follow document focuses on the use of naltrexone as an aid to people trying to learn how to drink moderately.
