Washington, Dec 04: Hollywood hunk George Clooney holds himself partially responsible for Danny DeVito’s drunken appearance on TV show The View, for he didn’t let his pal in on the secret to staying sober.
DeVito made headlines for all the wrong reason earlier this week when he appeared on The View still boozed-up after a night out on the town with Clooney and a few other pals.
Clooney, who appeared on the Today show after the incident, insisted that he should have showed DeVito that he was dumping his drinks in the plants and not gulping them down.
"I got to the point where I was dumping the shots into a plant next to me and I don't think Danny saw me do that," Contactmusic quoted him, as saying on the show.
Speaking about the "brutal night" in the taped TV interview that will appear on breakfast show TODAY on Monday (04DEC06), the ‘Ocean’s Twelve’ star also admits that he remembers little about the fateful night.
"We were doing shots of limoncello and that's all I can really say on the subject... All I can remember," Clooney says.
"The funniest thing was... we were just at a restaurant. It wasn't like we were out drinking. We were at a restaurant, sitting down, drinking. I was in bed by 11.30 at night and I woke up at 7am and I was still drunk," he added.

Danny DeVito: Alcoholism Is Not Cute
[From CelebritySatan blog]
Danny DeVito, of course, is a much-beloved actor who got his initial bump in 1978 from the quirky and mildly humorous sitom Taxi.
And, that’s right… I stand behind the sentiments in the title:
Attention Danny DeVito: Alcoholism Is Not Cute
And, that’s not to suggest that Mr. DeVito is an alcoholic or has any sort of drinking problem. That is not my suggestion at all. But, what we saw in Mr. DeVito’s View interview and subsequent analysis of the View interview is a very glib and amused interpretation of alcohol.
And, there’s not anything damn funny about alcohol!
While many people all over the world can drink alcohol without a problem, make no mistake, alcohol ruins the lives of millions of people, and, it’s just not a laughing matter… ever! And, it’s especially important that our young people don’t see alcohol being portrayed in such a whimsical way.
